Esidrix, HCTZ, Hydro-Chlor, Hydro-D, HydroDIURIL,Microzide, Oretci Functional class: Thiazide diuretic, antihypertensive Usual adult dose: 12.5-100mg/day Action: acts on distal tubule and ascending limb of loop of Henle by increasing excretion of H20, Na, Cl, K. Uses: Edema, hypertension, diuresis. Contraindications: in patients with anuria and patients hypersensitive to other thiazides or other sulfonamide derivatives. |
Use cautiously in children and in patients with severe renal disease, impaired hepatic function, or progressive hepatic disease.
