epithelial tissue
outer tissue that protects the skin and aligns the inner organs and cavities within the body
connective tissue
connects and supports other tissues in the body. Consists of minimal populations of cells scattered thru an extracellular matrix.
Muscular tissue

Simple E = composed of ONE single layer.
Stratified E= composed of multiple layers

flat and scale-like cells. Functions to exchange material by diffusion. Lines the blood vessels and air sacs.
Cuboidal cells
dice-shapped cells specialized for secretion.
columnar cells
Rectangular shaped cells that lines the intestines and secretes digestive juices and absorbs nutrients.
