USS - is it truly solitary, part of a goitre, or a cyst? Cannot determine if benign or malignant
FNAC - from centre is more likely to yield necrosis or haemorrhage
Isotope scan - if clinical or biochemical evidence of thyrotoxicosis; "hot" or "cold" nodule |
