Spongy Bone

Spongy Bone has small, open spaces that make your bones lightweight. They also have cavities and spaces filled with a supstance called marrow.

Cartilage

The ends of bones are covered with a smooth, slippery, thick layer of tissue called cartilage. It does not contain blood vessels or minerals.

Osteoblasts

Bone forming cells that deposite the minerals calcium and phosphorus in bones, making the bone tissue hard. They build up the bone.

Osteoclasts

They break bone down and release calcium and phosphorus back inot the blood stream.

These elements are necessary for the working of your body, including the movent of your muscles.
