Where did it begin? How come?
It began in Italy. The reason why is because Italy sits between Europe and the Mid-East, so any kinds of trade always have to go through Italy. This made Italy wealthier (along with the Roman Church in Vatican City), and allowed Italy to finance many of the artistic pieces of this time.

Humanism: What is it?
A movement created by Erasmus. This movement emphasized human potentials and glorified that achievements of Man.
Secularism: What is it?
People began to see the Church less importance in their lives, and started to focus on more worldly things.
Individualism: What is it?
People began to see themselves as an individual, rather than part of a community.
Patronage: What is it?
Was a way artists get wealthy. Artists find individuals who would fund their work. These people who would fund then are called 'patrons.' Then, artists start their work, unlike how it is today. Because of this, artists got a little less creativity because they need to please the patrons.
