The solar eclipse is when the moon perfectly is in front of the sun and it's close enough to the earth to the point where the moon blocks the sun and casts the shadow on the earth. It is rare because mostly it could be on the ocean where no one can see it or it's not close enough to the Cast a shadow. A lunar eclipse is when the moon is perfectly behind the earth and the earth is casting a shadow on to the moon it appears read because of the sun's rays passing through the atmosphere and it shines read on the moon it is visible very short amount of time. It's rare because it has to be perfectly in line and close enough to be in the red raise or else it will just get dark |
