What was the Enlightenment?
It was a time period throughout the 1700s and 1800s, and it was an extension of the Renaissance way of thinking. People thought nothing was beyond reach of the human mind, and they believed that through the use of reason, people and governments could solve every social, political, and economical problem. People also believed they could change the world.
