Olfactory - Important in the sensation of smell and joins in under the dorsal cerebral cortex.

Optic - Relays the sensation of vision and joins in under the dorsal cerebral cortex.

Oculomotor - Movements of they eye and eyelid. Also involved in pupil size. Joins in the oculomotor nucleus (midbrain).

Trochlear - Movements of the eye. Joins in the Trochlear nucleus (midbrain).

Trigeminal - sensation of touch to the face; controls movement of muscles for mastication. Motor relay from the Trigeminal Motor Nucleus (Pons). Sensory input in Principle Trigeminal Nucleus (pons), and Spinal Trigeminal Nucleus (Medulla).

Abducens - Movement of the eye. Abducens Nucleus (pons).

Facial - Movements of muscles in facial expression. Sensation of taste in anterior two thrids of the tounge. Joins Facial nucleus (pons).
VIII
Vestibular-Cochlear - Sensation of hearing and balance. Meet respective nuclei (medulla and pons).
IX
Glossopharyngeal - Movement of muscles in throat. Controls salivary glands. Sensation of taste in posterior thrid of tounge. Detection of blood pressure changes in aorta.
X
Vagus - Control of hearth, lungs, and abdominal organs. Sensation of pain with viscera. Movement of throat muscles.
XI
Spinal accessory - Movment of muscles in throat and neck
XII
Hypoglossal - Movement of tounge.
