When you fly into Tanzania you will be met and transferred to the hotel.The welcome dinner will be held at the hotel that evening where you will also meet your guide. You will be walking on a ridge, to the left of which is the Semira stream, and on the right, the Weru. You will encounter giant groundsels (weird palm tree) as you hike through a ghostly landscape of volcanic lava, caves, and foamy streams. Lunch will be taken just below the Shira Plateau. Uhuru stands at 19,340 feet and is the highest point on the continent of Africa. |

The Great Wall of China stretches 6,000 kilometers from the Gobi Desert in the West to the crashing waves and rocks of Shanhaiguan in the East and is one of the seven wonders of the medieval world. Many people visit the wall each year – some only briefly not least because Chairman Mao once said ‘If you don’t go to the Great Wall, you’re not a real man’. Well now is the chance for both men and women to take the time explore the dramatic scenery and to marvel at the construction which began more than 2,000 years when the Quin Dynasty first started to build it. Over our 8 day tour in China, we’ll be exploring different sections of the wall in Beijing, Gubeikou, Jinshanling and Mutianyu with a full day hike from Mutianyu to Jiankou to complete the adventure. |
