what is pain ?

used as a baseline and interval monitor at intervals.

how is the visual analog scale used?
|
level of perceived pain.
10cm line- L anchor (no pain), R anchor (worst pain) measure the pain in cm and rate the score. |

what are the limitations of the VAS?
|
since it is subjective, cannot state difference between 1 and 3 is same as between 8 and 10 despite 2 point difference between each. cannot then say 20% reduction in pain.
