What is Alliteration?
It is the repetition of the same or similar sounds at the beginning of words.
i.e ; SHE SELLS SEA SHELLS BY THE SEA SHORE

What is Assonance?
It is the repetition or a pattern of similar sounds, especially vowel sounds.
i.e ; MOSES SUPPOSES HIS TOESES ARE ROSES

It is a reference to a historical, biblical, or mythological event to which the reader is familiar with or assumes to be.
What is a Ballad?
It is a poem that tells a story similar to a folk tale or legend.
What is a Blank Verse?

Giving nonhuman things human-like qualities.
i.e ; THE SKY SMILED RIGHT AT ME AS I WALKED OVER THE HILL.

The comparison between two things using the words "like" or "as"
i.e ; I RUN LIKE A TRACK STAR WHO JUST HAD KNEE SURGERY

A word or phrase that stands for something else.
i.e ; A CIRCLE IS A SYMBOL OF LIFE, UNITY, PEACE
What is an Anaphora?
The repetition of the same words at the beginning of a sentence.
What is a Modulation ?
The harmonious use of language relative to the variations of stress and pitch.
What is Phonetic Symbolism?
The association of particular word-sounds with common areas of meaning so that other words of similar sounds come to be associated with those meanings.
What is a Euphony ?
Harmony or beauty of sound that provides a pleasing effect to the ear.
