Conflict

Struggle between opposing characters that is protagonist and someone or something else.

Point of view

The point of view is the perspective from which a story is seen or told.

First person narrative

To protagonist telling his/her own story directly to the reader uses the pronoun "I"

Third person narrative

Refers to the main character as he/she (shows us only what one character thinks and feels)

Objective point of view

Third person,narrator tells us what people do or say, but not what they're felling or thinking (camera view)

Omniscient point of view

All the characters' thoughts and feelings are known.

Limited omniscient point of view

Only one person's inner thoughts is known.

Dialogue

A conversation between two or more people.

Monologue

Flashback

Shifts the story from the present the the past, usually to illustrate an important point or to reveal a change in character

Foreshadowing

Hints of what is to happen later in the story.
