A general term for pieces of information that a computer processes.
Record
In a database, a record holds all the information about one item or subject. It is like one indec card in an index file.
Database
organized collection of information. It is like a box of 3x5 cards that you can search, sort and analyze rapidly with a database program.
Field
In a data base, a field holds exactly one type of information about an item or subject. It is like one line written on an index card in an index card file.
Sort
To organize a list of information in a different order. Alphabetical order (a to z) Ascending order (a to z, 1 to 10) or descending order (z to a, 10 to 1)
