0.5 NTU (nephelometric turbidity units) and 1.0 mhos/cm conductivity
SPC/ADHR
The ADHR function requires the SPC system to be able to:
• maintain reactor coolant temperature ≤ 200F in Operating Mode 4 at 20 hours after shutdown;

• reduce reactor coolant temperature to ≤ 140F in Operating Mode 5 at 120 hours after shutdown;
• reduce reactor coolant temperature to ≤ 120F in Operating Mode 5 at 144 hours after shutdown;

• Maintain reactor coolant temperature ≤ 120F thereafter.
attached to a 200 horse power motor, to move between 1500 and 2250 gpm through the various flowpaths provided by the system. The pumps can only be operated one at a time. The SPC Filter and Demineralizer must be full to start a pump. The pump will trip on a high system flow of 2500 gpm, or a Low system flow of 600 gpm, or a low suction pressure of 0.3 psig.
SPC Pumps
provides the heat removal function of the system capable of removing 60 million BTUs/hr which will control decay heat load 20 hours after the reactor is shutdown.
SPC Heat Exchanger
filters all of the flow, 800 gpm, that is processed through the filter demineralizer skid to cleanup the suppression pool water.
SPC Filter
treats a portion of the water, 400 gpm, sent to the filter demineralizer skid. Contains mixed bed ion exchange resin to further purify the suppression pool water.
SPC Demineralizer

provides the motive force to manipulate the various Air Operated Valves in the system.
Instrument Air
Provides the dynamic reverse flow disruption to break away any particles that have collected on the SPC Filter elements, during a backwashing of the filter.

provides isolation of the Containment Isolation Valves RHS-AOV62, 63, and 64 when the RHR system initiates and if a leak is detected in the system.
Containment and Reactor Vessel Isolation Control System (CRVICS)
cooling medium for the SPC heat exchanger.

for system filling, backwashing the SPC filter, and rinsing of the backwash tank SPC-TK2.
Condensate Makeup, Storage and Transfer System
