The Sahel is a transitional zone (Ecotone). It is a growing desert because the Sahara is near the equator. The Sahel zone had desertification and soil erosion during the second half of the 20th century. It also separates Muslim Africans from Christian and Tribal African.

The abundance of fish had decreased because there are too many people fishing in the lake. Population increased and also the climate changed. Fishing has also become more expensive because of the gas usage that fisherman needs in order for them to go far enough to catch fish.

Katanga, Congo is a place where there is a lot of mining resources and is good for farming and ranching. Ex: Copper, tin, radium, uranium, and diamonds
