Tacit knowledge
Knowledge that is passed from person to person without being articulated. Resides in people and can’t be formalized.
Heuristics
Things that guide. Can’t give explicit instructions. "Rule of thumb"
Experimenter's regress.
Paradox in scientific knowledge. Unsure who had "correct" results.
Paranormal Phenomenon
Anomalous phenomena which conflict with accepted scientific opinion as to what is physically possible. The phenomena are generally known as PSI Phenomena.

Believers (sheep) are better at ESP than nonbelievers (goats)
Paradigm
A worldview of framework shared amongst a community of scientists.
Norms
Institutional imperatives. Institutionalized when it is linked to the distribution of rewards. Conformity is rewarded.

The work of female scientists is often neglected. Similar to Matthew effect.

Confidence in or reliance on some quality or attribute of a person or thing
black box
A piece of equipment, instrument, or technique becomes “black-boxed” when, despite the complexity of the machine, we just focus on the inputs and outputs.
Normalization of Deviance
c. When something disastrous happens, it seems like “bolt from the blue” even though there may have been signs, they have been normalized
Frye Rule
Has the claim gained general acceptance in the particular field in which it belongs.
