What is CRITERION?
that which is unrepresentative of the population.
CRITICAL VALUE
The value of the sample statistic that marks the edge of the region of rejection in a sampling distribution.
Values that lie beyond the critical value.
Region of rejection.
Probability
p = the likelihood that an event will happen in randomnly sampled population.
Probability distribution
The probability of every possible event in a population, derived from the relative frequency of every possible event in that population
Random sampling
A method of selecting samples so that all members of the population have the same chance of being selected for a sample
Representative sample
A method of selecting samples so that all members of the population have the same chance of being selected for a sample
Sampling error
The difference, due to random chance, between a sample statistic and the population parameter it represents
