mean
The average of a set of data. Add the numbers up then divide by the total number of numbers.
frequency table
a table for organizing a set of data that shows the number of times each item or number appears. Sometimes using tally marks. |||| for 4
mode
The number that shows up the most in a set of data. There could be more than one mode in a set of data.
scatter plot
ploting two set of related data on the same graph using ordered pairs. A downward slant is negative, an upward slant shows a positve relationship.
range
The difference between the greatest number and the least number in a set of data.
scale
The set of all possible values of a given set of data. Including the greatest and least number in the set.
interval
the number of values use in each group. example 1-5,6-10, 11-15. There are five numbers per grouping.
median
The number that is in the middle after you arrange the numbers in order from least to greatest.
bar graph
A graphic form using bars to make comparisons of data.
line graph
A type of graph using lines to show how values change over a period of time.
