With its sleek arrowhead shape, streamlined cockpit, and massive twin engines, this starfighter suggests raw speed even when parked within Alliance hangar bays. Faster than even the TIE interceptor, the this ship is well suited for lightning strikes. It sports a pair of pivoting laser cannons on each wingtip. The starfighters of Green Squadron, which flew in the Battle of Endor, were made up of this type of starfighter

A-wing

5a versatile Rebel Alliance starfighter that balances speed with firepower. Armed with four laser cannons and two proton torpedo launchers, this ship can take on anything the Empire throws at it. Nimble engines give it an edge during dogfights, and it can make long-range jumps with its hyperdrive and its astromech droid co-pilot. Luke Skywalker is famous for destroying the Death Star behind the controls of one of these.

X-wing

A workhorse starfighter that has been in use since the Clone Wars. Used for dogfights and for bombing runs against capital ships and ground targets, these ships are often overshadowed by newer models such as the X-wing and the A-wing. But the it's historical importance is remarkable, and it has reliably served multiple generations of star pilots.

Y-wing

Perhaps the oddest-looking starfighter in the Rebel Alliance fleet, this fighter is as powerful as it is ungainly. The ship's structure is almost entirely taken up by its primary airfoil, which houses a cylindrical cockpit on one end, an engine cluster in the center, and a heavy weapons pod at its base. Located just below the engine cluster are a pair of S-foils which can deploy to extend the firing arc of twin laser cannons. This ship's command pod has a unique gyroscopic control system. The pilot can orient it so that it always stays level with a horizon line. No matter which way it may maneuver laterally, its pilot remains upright.

B-wing

Protecting the skies over Republic worlds were specialized clone fighter forces flying the latest in starfighter technology. This fighter was a bulky, aggressive ship covered with weapons. Three clone trooper pilots operated this advanced combat craft, with a pilot handling the flight maneuvers, a copilot operating the laser cannons mounted on the ship's wide wings, and a tailgunner operating the dorsal rear-facing cannon. The fighter also carried an astromech droid for onboard repairs.

Arc-170 star fighter

Though an outdated starfighter, this ship boasts endurance and adaptability. The clone pilots of the Galactic Republic used this ship during the Clone Wars. A multi-purpose starfighter, it has spawned countless variants, with the Republic making its own mark on the it's large production run with a clone trooper-specific model. It is largely recognized as a respectable and versatile snub-fighter of its era, and was the forerunner of the incredibly successful X-wing starfighter.

Z-95 star fighter

In the days leading up to the Clone Wars, these ships were transports favored by refugees trying to escape Coruscant since travelers had no need to register themselves. It was for that reason that Jedi Master Mace Windu suggested this method of transportation to then-padawan Anakin Skywalker when he was escorting Senator Amidala back to Naboo after an attempt on her life. The ships were outfitted with everything needed to carry a massive amount of people of various species across the galaxy, including cafeterias and various servant droids.

AA-9 Coruscant Freighter

The marriage of repulsorlift technology and heavy armor has resulted in formidable floating tanks. These assault tanks form the frontline of Trade Federation armored infantry divisions, as well as Separatist forces during the Clone Wars. A crew of battle droids drives the battle tank and operates the array of laser and projectile weaponry carried by the vehicle.

AAT Assault Tank

A four-legged transport and combat vehicle used by the Imperial ground forces. Standing over 20 meters tall with blast-impervious armor plating, these massive constructs are used as much for psychological effect as they are for tactical advantage.

AT-AT

While not as imposing as its larger AT-AT walker cousin, this transport nonetheless served as a significant addition to the Imperial side of battlefields in the Galactic Civil War. The two-man craft is lightly armed with chin-mounted laser cannons, and side-mounted weapon pods. The two-legged transport, dubbed the scout walker by many, serves as a reconnaisance and patrol vehicle, often flanking approaching AT-ATs and mopping up infantry that sneaks past the larger walkers. The Imperials used this in both the Battle of Hoth and the Battle of Endor.

AT-ST

These brick-colored atmospheric vehicles keep the peace in the skies of Bespin. They feature twin “pods” connected by a repulsorlift engine, and are equipped with light blaster cannons. Each one has a pilot and a gunner, who work in tandem to intercept starships bound for Cloud City, question their captains and take defensive measures as needed.

Cloud Car

These wedge-shaped one-man starfighters were built for the Jedi Order. The designers worked with the Jedi to create a starfighter for pilots with Force-aided reflexes, stripping down the fighters’ systems and making their controls as responsive as possible. With skilled pilots such as Anakin Skywalker and Saesee Tiin at the controls, they were lightning-quick in combat, darting in for attack runs and then skipping nimbly away from retaliatory fire. During one famous encounter, Obi-Wan Kenobi piloted one through Geonosis’s planetary ring, pursued by Jango Fett in his starship Slave I. Plo Koon was piloting his above Cato Neimoidia when Chancellor Palpatine ordered the clones to execute Order 66. Plo’s wingman caught the Jedi General by surprise and blew his fighter out of the sky.

Delta-7 jedi star fighter

With the outbreak of the Clone Wars, the Jedi were pressed into the forefront of military activity, serving as generals in the campaign against the Separatists. The demands of combat drove advancements in the Jedi starfighter arsenal, resulting in modifications to existing craft and a new generation of fighters. This ship was smaller than the earlier Delta-7 but boasted greater firepower. Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi flew them during the Battle of Coruscant, where Obi-Wan’s fighter was badly damaged by Separatist buzz droids. Some design elements were later incorporated into the Empire’s TIE fighters.

Eta-2 jedi star fighter

An elegant example that stands apart from typical brutish Imperial engineering, this is a multi-purpose transport used in the Imperial starfleet. The Empire pressed the shuttle into service for both cargo ferrying and passenger duty. Even the Empire's elite, like Darth Vader and the Emperor Palpatine used these. It has three wings: a stationary center foil and two articulated flanking wings. When in flight, the side wings fold out for greater stabilization. When landing, the wings fold in, shrinking the vessel's silhouette. The well-armed vessel has two forward-facing double laser cannons, two wing-mounted double cannons, and a rear-facing double laser cannon. It is equipped with a hyperdrive.

Imperial Shuttle

The wedge-shaped ship is a capital ship bristling with weapons emplacements. Turbolasers and tractor beam projectors dot its surface. Its belly hangar bay can launch TIE fighters, boarding craft, land assault units, hyperspace probes, or be used to hold captured craft. In the days of the Empire, its bustling bridge would be staffed by the finest crewers in the Imperial starfleet. Its presence in a system mark matters of extreme Imperial import. Though, as is typical of the Empire, not even this was enough to sate the Imperial hunger for displays of power.

Imperial Star Destroyer

This ship was the unforgettable symbol of the Imperial fleet. Carried aboard Star Destroyers and battle stations, these were single-pilot vehicles designed for fast-paced dogfights with Rebel X-wings and other starfighters. The iconic ship led to other models in the TIE family including the dagger-shaped TIE Interceptor and the explosive-laden TIE bomber. The terrifying roar of the engines would strike fear into the hearts of all enemies of the Empire.

Tie Fighter

Despite her humble origins and shabby exterior, this ship has played a role in some of the greatest victories of the Rebel Alliance and the New Republic. It looks like a worn-out junker, but beneath her hull she’s full of surprises. A succession of owners, from Lando Calrissian and Han Solo to Gannis Ducain, have made special modifications that boosted the freighter’s speed, shielding and firepower to impressive – and downright illegal – levels. The price of such tinkering? She can be unpredictable, with her hyperdrive particularly balky. Despite her flaws, she’s beloved by her owners – Han Solo and Chewbacca have spent years searching the galaxy for the ship they once called home.

Millennium Falcon

Protecting the skies and space around Naboo is this starfighter. Its sleek design exemplifies the philosophy of art and function witnessed throughout Naboo technology. Its twin radial J-type engines are capped in gleaming chrome and trail long delicate-looking finials behind the ship's single-pilot compartment. Behind the pilot sits a standard astromech droid, plugged into an abbreviated, ventrally-fed socket which requires the droid to compress slightly in order to fit within the vessel's curves. The fighter features twin blaster cannons, twin fire-linked torpedo launchers, and a capable automatic pilot feature.

Naboo N-1 star fighter

This ship boasts a strikingly beautiful design that embodies the craftsmanship that prevailed in the peaceful years of the Republic. The polished, streamlined vessel lacks any offensive weaponry, but does feature strong shields and a competent hyperdrive. During the Trade Federation invasion of Naboo, Queen Amidala and her retinue escaped aboard this ship. Piloted by Ric Olie, the vessel narrowly avoided the Trade Federation blockade, though its hyperdrive was damaged. The ship limped to Tatooine, where a replacement T-14 hyperdrive generator was procured.

Naboo Royal Starship

Not primarily a cargo transport, troop carrier or other replenishment or supply vessel; it was developed and honed for ship-to-ship combat. Its huge armored shape had an aggressive, dagger-like profile, studded with heavy weapons emplacements capable of punching through powerful shields and sturdy armor. The front half of the ship's spine contained a massive flight deck capable of scrambling the latest in Republic starfighters. The huge hangar doors opened to allow ships to land or takeoff from the deck; the vessel also had a smaller docking bay entrance on its lower side.

Republic Attack Cruiser

The distinctive shape and hue of this ship is instantly recognizable throughout the galaxy, indicating a vessel on a mission for the Galactic Senate, the Supreme Chancellor, or the Jedi Order. Chancellor Valorum dispatched one carrying two important Jedi ambassadors to negotiate an end to the Trade Federation Blockade of Naboo. The cruiser docked within a Trade Federation battleship's cavernous landing bay. On the orders of Darth Sidious, the Trade Federation ambushed the Jedi ambassadors. The crew of the cruiser was caught by surprise, destroyed by a concealed turbolaser turret.

Republic cruiser

Huge treaded fortresses used by Jawas as transportation and shelter. The sand-pitted vehicles, many meters in height, are equipped with a magnetic suction tube for sucking droids and scrap into their cargo chambers.

Sand crawler

This ship was infamous for its association with Jango Fett, a bounty hunter in Mandalorian armor. Fett packed the craft with weapons, from laser cannons and projectile launchers to seismic charges. Boba Fett inherited the ship upon Jango’s death, but Aurra Sing crashed it on Florrum and Boba was taken into Republic custody. Hondo Ohnaka repaired it, and Boba later reclaimed it. A generation after Jango’s death, the distinctive craft remained the last thing fugitives wanted to see on their scanners.

Slave 1

When stationed on Hoth, the Rebel Alliance modified these airspeeders to become snowspeeders, fast flying conveyances for patrol and defense of their hidden base. It took some doing to keep the crippling cold from permanently grounding their airforce, but Rebel ingenuity overcame the relentless Hoth elements. This airspeeder is a small, wedge-shaped craft with two forward-facing laser cannons. In its rear arc is a harpoon gun fitted with a heavy-duty tow cable. It is a two-man vessel, with a pilot and rear-facing tailgunner.

Snow Speeder

The Empire used flights of these to drop vast quantities of munitions on rebellious planets and targets in space, delivering devastating attacks with frightening accuracy.

Tie bomber

Faster and better-armed descendents of regular TIE fighters, these defended the second Death Star at the Battle of Endor. The bent-winged fighters swarmed the Rebel fleet in a terrifying display of the Empire's military might.

Tie interceptor
