1. begin with a heat fixed emulsion
2. cover the smear with crystal violet stain for 1 minute 3. gently rinse with water 4. cover the smear with gram's iodine (mordant) for minute 5. rinse with water 6. decolorize with ethanol alcohol ( a few drops) 7. gently rinse with water 8. counter with safarin stain for 1 minute 9. rinse with water 10. gently blot dry with bibulous paper |

1. begin with a heat fixed emulsion
2. apply carbolfuchsin stain over steam generator for 5 minutes 3. rinse with water 4. decolorize with acid alcohol 5. rinse with water 6. counterstain with methane blue for 1 minute 7. rinse with water 8. use bibulous paper |

2. apply malachite green over steam generator for 5 minutes 3. rinse with water 4. counterstain with safarin for 1 minute 5. rinse with water 6. use bibulous paper 7. |

|
1. begin with a drop of congo red stain at one end of a clean slide
2. aseptically add organisms and emulsify with a loop 3. take a second clean slide, place it on the surface of the first slide, and draw it back to the drop 4.when the drop flows across the width of the spreader slide 5. push the spreader slide to the other end. dispose of the spreader slide in a jar of disenfectant or sharps container 6. air day and do NOT heat fix (45-60 minutes) 7. flood the slide with Maneval's stain for 1 minute. 8. rinse with water 9. gently blot dry in a tablet of bibulous paper. do not rub. observe under oil immension |
