Vodka

Colorless liquor usually distilled from fermented grain or potatoes but also from other raw materials.

Gin

Made from distillation of white grain spirit and juniper berries which provide its distinctive flavor. Taste is very dry.

Rum

Distilled beverage made from sugarcane by-products such as molasses and sugarcane juice by a process of fermentation and distillation. The distillate, a clear liquid, is then usually aged in oak and other casks.

Tequila

A strong distilled alcoholic beverage made primarily in the area surrounding tequila, a town in the western Mexican state of Jalisco. Made from the agave plant.

Whiskey

Distilled from grain often including malt which has been aged in wooden barrels.

Bourbon

An American form of whiskey made from at least 51% corn or maize, with the remainder being wheat, rye, and malted barley.

Scotch

Whiskey made in Scotland. Divided into at least three distinct categories: single malt, vetted malt, and blended.

Triple sec

Colorless, orange flavored liqueur used in thousands of mixed drinks and recipes as a sweetening and flavoring agent. The flavor comes from the dried peels of prematurely picked oranges that grow natively the island of curacao and tend to be more bitter.
