Wine styles
Valancia DO
- Traditionally famous for Moscatel de Valencia; highly perfumed sweet wine; fortified or not fortified. Moscatel wines are now produced in range of styles: dry, sweet, sparkling.
- Reds: generally fruit-driven easy-drinking styles.
- Move towards quality (Tempranillo, Macabeo. Bobal for blends), but mainly value for money. Originally planted mainly w low quality local or hybrid varieties.

- Mostly rosés from Bobal and sturdy reds.
- Doble pasta: double maceration for rosés.
- Neutral whites from Merseguera and Macabeo

- Most important wines for export are easy drinking whites, reds and rosados plus sweet Moscatel.
- 'Fondillon': traditional sweet red wine in oxidised style from late picked Monastrell and aged for min 10y in oak barrels. Vintage-dated or from Solera.
