What is the definition of a "Hazard Zone"?
Any area that requires use of SCBA or in which a firefighter is at risk of becoming lost, trapped, or injured by the environment or structure.
How should firefighters operating at in large industrial buildings or high hazard facilities be split up into teams?
Officers in charge shall ensure that all of te firefighters on the company operate as a team.
What are the communication requirements for H&L/RS companies assigned to forcible entry/ventilation duties with attack units?
They shall maintain direct contact with the Engine company they are assisting and radio contact with their unit commander.
Members of a crew must always be in contact with each other by what methods?

7. When company/crew cannot be contacted in hazard zone after three consecutive attempts at radio contact
8. Any condition where IC feels a PAR is needed.
Who is allowed to order the implementation of an evacuation procedure?
Incident Commander or the Safety Officer
What is a Type I: Emergency Evacuation?
All personnel will without question evacuate the involved building or area immediately with tools if they will not cause a delay.
What is the procedure for a Type I evacuation?
1. Notify units by radio emer. evacuation is in effect
2. I.C. direct FDC to implement emer. evacuation signal (10 sec. solid tone over Tac and main dispatch chan.)
3. I.C. order air horns sounded for 15 sec.
4. Conduct PAR
What is a Type II: Tactical Withdrawal?
All personnel without question evacuate the involved building or area WITH ALL EQUIPMENT. EXAMPLE: When going from offensive to defensive attack.
What is the procedure for a Type II: Tactical Withdrawal?
I.C. notify all units by radio that a Tactical Withdrawal is in effect. All personnel will exit involved area with all equipment and make sure area is clear of all personnel.
What is a Type III:Area or Sector Withdrawal?
Following the use of a Emergency Evacuation or Tactical Withdrawal conditions may be hazardous enough to require withdrawal from a sector or an entire area.
What is the procedure for a Type III:Area or Sector Withdrawal?
The Incident Commander will notify the Sector Commanders/units in danger by radio that Area/Sector Withdrawal is in effect. Lines shall be disconnected at the apparatus and all aerial equip. bedded. Apparatus with all personnel will leave the area leaving all equip. behind.
Upon receiving a report of a lost or missing firefighter what must the incident commander do?
1. Send RIT to last reported working area of lost FGF to begin search.
2. Request the next greater alarm
3. Initiate PAR of all companies assigned in hazard zone.
4. Adjust on-scene strategies to a priority search-and-rescue effort while maintaining fire control.
