6
Rule #1:
Most alkali metal salts and ammonium salts (NH4+) are SOLUBLE.
Rule #2:
Most Nitrates (NO3), Acetates (CH3CO2), and Perchlorates (ClO4) are SOLUBLE.
Rule #3:
Most Silver (Ag), Lead (Pb), and Mercury (Hg) (1) salts are INSOLUBLE.
Rule #4:
Most Chlorides (Cl-), Bromides (Br-), and Iodides (I-) are SOLUBLE.
Rule #5:
Most Carbonates (CO3), Chromates (CrO4), Sulfides (S-), Oxides (O-), Phosphates (PO4), and Hydroxides (OH-) are INSOLUBLE

**except for (OH-) complexes of Ba2+, Ca2+, and Sr2+, which are slightly SOLUBLE
Rule #6:
Most Sulfates (SO4) are SOLUBLE

**except for Calcium Sulfate (CaSO4) and Barium Sulfate (BaSO4), which are INSOLUBLE
