Batting Basics (Slow Pitch)

You are only allowed 3 strikes to "strike out," and only 4 balls to "walk."

Pitching Basics & Requirements

The pitcher must start with two hands on the ball, and pitch underhand.

When do you pitch a strike?

To pitch a strike, the pitcher must throw the ball to land on the home plate, or the batter misses.

What are the rules of fouls and foul tips?

They are considered strikes, but can't get a batter out by a foul.

What happens if the batter is hit or beaned?

They will take the base.

What is considered a tag out?

When a base runner is hit with the ball in hand.

What is a force out?

When a base runner is out by way of the fielders touching the advancing runner's base with the ball in hand. This is only to be used when the previous base is occupied, or if a runner hits the ball and is taking their first run.

What are the rules and policies of base running?

You are allowed to run through first base, eliminating the need to slow down before reaching the base and can rather continue with you momentum to the next base, even if you are safe.

What are the rules and policies of tagging up?

If a fly ball is hit, the base runners must wait for the ball to be caught/touched by the defensive player before running. By not tagging up, the defensive players can get the runner out by returning the ball to the runner's original position.

How many bases can you advance on an overthrow?
