It has increased dramatically. In western Europe between 1820-1950 average incomes increased by 4x, as well as 3.5x from 1950-1990 and still continue to rise. China has increased, but not as dramatically as America or western Europe. This is because the dramatic increase in the economy happened in areas where the industrial revolution was more apparent
