What is a BELIEF?

Give an example.
An idea about reality. What you think are true about the way things are.

An example would be thinking the money leads to happiness. Or a college degree when land you a great job.
What is are INSTINCTS?

Give an example.
An innate behavior. Something you do that does not involve socialization. It occurs under certain environmental conditions and is particular to that species.

An example would be blinking or crying.
What is CONFLICT THEORY?

Give an example.
It emphasizes the opposing forces between ideas and culture and how it eventually leads to issues. It believes that culture ultimately creates problems between social groups

An example would the problems between different social classes. How the few control the masses.
What is INTERACTIONISM?

Give an example.
Theory that cultures and people are structured through their understanding and responses to mutually understood symbols.

An example would be wearing your hat with it tilting to the left or right in certain neighbors can signify what gang you are affiliated.
Or how wearing a suit means you are a being professional.
What does your ROLE mean in culture?

Give an example.
The predefined ways of action that is given to your status in society. You do certain things and expect certain things in return because of your status.

An example is if you birth a child you become a mother and are expected to raise and take care of the child. You are expected to love your child unconditionally.
What is ROLE PERFORMANCE?
Actually doing what you believe to be the ways to act in your status in real life.
What are COMPLEMENTARY ROLES?
Statuses that depend on the actions of another and vice versa.

Boss and employee.
What are LATENT FUNCTIONS?
Is apart of functionalism. It is unintended and unrecognized functions. Was not apart of the original plan.

Driving cars were made to get from point A to point B quicker, but driving excessively causes pollution and deaths through car accidents.
What is CONSPICUOUS CONSUMPTION?

Mobility that occurs because of changes in the distribution of occupational opportunites.

When an expectation leads to behavior that then causes the expectation to become reality.

EXAMPLE
deviant behavior is learned, principally, in primary groups. Can pass on from generation to generation.
