Monarchy |
A form of government with a king or queen at the head. This was one of the first forms of government |

a ruling that is used as a basis for a judicial decision in a later, similar case. Like if someone had broken a law that hadn't ever been broken, the judge would come up with a punishment for that law depending on how severe it was and the age of the person who broke the law |

Colony |
A group of people in one place ruled by a parent country elsewhere. An example of that is the 13 colonies that soon became America after The Revolutionary War |

Dictatorship |
It is where one leader has control over all the citizens lives. An example of this is Hitler and the Nazis. |

The separation of powers in government. Parliament was England's strongest legislature |
