How did competition between Britain and France to control North America shape Canada?
france really controlled it at the begginging but after the war britain begain to control it. but north america still had a strong connection with france so it wasn't entirely british.

the french and the british agreed that the french would still be allowed to practice their catholic religion. the future of the region was still very uncertain and there was protasant english rulers; also from this point on north america was considered british north america

in the war, the british and the french fought for 7 years. hence the name seven years war. the war went global 2 years after the british and the french fought over control for ohio vally along the western boundary of the thirteen colonies

it was not just in north america - bitain and france were fighting within their own countries also.
what happened on the plains of abraham during the seven years war?
the french had surrounded quebec with a wall and most of the army stood at the front of quebec city. britain decided to attack from behind and this helped britain a lot. both of the leaders from both sides (General James Wolf who lead the british and Marquis de Montcalm who lead the french) died during this battle.

How did people meet the challenges of the Deportation?
when some of the acadian people didn't sign, between 1755 and 1763 britain decided to capture 11000 acadians and ship them off to british north america, england, and france. many families were seperated during this. this was bad.

the acadians were french so when they went over to canada they influenced the canadain culture.

what was the royal proclamation of 1763?
it was a proclamation made by the british in an atempt to establish ever lasting peace. it was an attempt to assimilate the canadiens by making quebec with a british style government.
what was the quebec act of 1774?
there was about 70000 canadiens in quebec at the time so britin wasn't doing all that great on the part of 'overwealming' them with british peeps. the quebec act allowed them to be catholic and for catholics to hold positions in the government as long as they took an oath to britian.
