Social Entrepreneurship is what?
Social entrepreneurship is addressing social problems or needs. It is motivated by social benefit. Social entrepreneurship works towards market forces, not against them. And it should adopt a business form with a double line. Without social entrepreneurship the world would be in a different stage than it is today.
What is an example of social entrepreneurship?
An example of social entrepreneurship would be the Ronald McDonald House. This is an organization that not only helps millions of children, but millions of families as well. Without the Ronald McDonald House we would look at things that involve these families differently. When this happens to those children their parents and families know that there is some sort of reprieve. That things will be taken care of to the best of their ability and that there is someone out there to help these children.
Four principals of ethics?
The four principals of ethics that i would like to discuss would be the principal of benevolence, the principal of harm, the principal of autonomy, and the principal of justice. The principal of benevolence is to help those in need. There is some sort of an obligation to help those in need. Benevolence is the moral trait to help those in need. The principal of harm is to not harm others. It is basically self-explanatory with its name. To not harm someone is common sense. Why should someone in this world set out and intend to hurt someone? It is morally incorrect to do so. The principal of autonomy is to acknowledge someones freedoms over his or her actions and physical body. I had a difficult time learning more and understanding this principal. One has the right to do as they please with their body, and sometimes i feel like it is hard for other people to let this happen if someone is harming their own self. The last principal i would like to discuss would be the principal of justice. The principal of justice is to acknowledge a person's right to due process, fair compensation for harm done and fair distribution of benefits.
Examples of beneficence.
The three examples of beneficence that i really liked were St. Jude's Hospital, Five Pound Apparel and Tom's Shoes. These three companies took it upon themselves to help better the world. St. Jude's helps millions of children
