Acute ironic toxicity

Gastric lavage with sodium bicarbonate or encourage to consume egg yolk/milk



Inj desferoxiamine 50mg/kg im every 4-12 hours or as required



Inj diazepam.10mg alow iv(if convulsions)



Supportive measures

Peptic ulcer

Tablet pantoprazole 40 milligram once a day for 4 weeks take 1 hour before meals avoid spicy and fried food take small frequent meals at short intervals avoid excessive intake of tea and coffee follow up after 4 weeks

Peptic ulcer with H pylori

Capsul Omeprazole 20 milligram twice a day for 2 weeks


capsule clarithromycin 500 milligram twice a day for 2 weeks


tablet tinidazole 500 milligram twice a day for 2 weeks

Intestinal amoebiasis

Tablet tinidazole 2 gram once a day for three days


tablet diloxanide furoate 500 milligrams twice a day for 5 to 10 days if vomiting occurs injection metoclopramide 10 milligram Ivy slowly

Extra intestinal amoebiasis

1 tablet chloroquine phosphate 250 milligram 4 tablets per day for 2 days 2 tablet tinidazole 2 gram once a day for 3 days


3 tablet diloxanide furoate 500 milligram thrice a day for 5 to 10 days


if vomiting occurs injection metoclopramide 10 milligram IV slowly

swine flu

Oseltamivir tamiflu 75 milligrams twice a day for 5 days tablet Paracetamol 500 milligram 50 gram regular gargling increased fluid intake isolation of patient steam inhalation

Scabies

Permethrin cream 5 percent is to be applied vigorously after Scrub bath with warm water apply all over the body except head and face wash after 12 to 24 hours night clothes and bedding should be washed and dried treat all family members simultaneously

Acute attack of malaria

Chloroquine 600 milligram (10 milligram per kg followed) by 300 grams (5milligram per kg )after 8 hours and then for next 2 days total (25 milligram per kg over 3 days) and primaquine 15 milligram daily for 14 days(0.25 milligram per kg)

Chloroquine resistant vivax malaria

Quinine 600 milligram (10 milligram per kg) 8 hourly for 7 days +


doxycycline100 milligram daily for 7 days or clindamycin 600 milligram 12 hours Lee for 7 days + primaquine 15 milligram(0. 25 milligram per kg) daily for 14 days

Cerebral Malaria

Quinine diluted HCL 20 MG / kg (as loading dose) in 10 ml per kg dextrose or dextrose saline infusion Iv over 4 hours followed by 10 mg / kg (maintenance dose) Iv infusion over 4 hours in adults or 2 hours in children every 8 hours until patient can swallow switch over to oral quinine 10 mg / kg 8 hourly to complete 7 day course

Artesunate 2.4 MG / kg i v or im followed by 2.4 MG / kg after 12 hours + 24 hours + then once daily dosing for 7 days switch over to 3 day oral ACT in between Manav the patient can take and tolerate oral medication

Acute gout

Capsule indomethacin (indocin) 50 mg 3 times a day tablet colchicine (zycochin) 0.5milligram


2 tablet stat followed by 1 tablet 2 hourly till attack subsides or GI intolerance occurs (maximum of 8 milligrams can be given)


Chronic gout

Tablet allopurinol zyloric 200 milligrams twice a day ×1 month


Tab indomethacin 50mg Tds×7days



precaution avoid food rich in purines if uric acid levels are high after 1 month then increase dose of allopurinol to 600 MG

Rheumatoid arthritis

Tablet diclofenac 50 mg twice a day for 10 days


tablet methotrexate 7.5 MG weekly
