Sprain
Injury of ligament
Strain
Injury of the musculotendinous unit
Fracture
Injury of a bone
Dislocation / Subluxation
Injury of a joint.

Dislocation: complete coming apart of a joint, no contact remains between articular surfaces.

Subluxation: incomplete coming apart of a joint. Some contact remains.

Subluxation:
Sternoclavicular joint
Strong joint, so rarely dislocates.

When it does, anterior is fine (visible) but posterior is dangerous (pokes the trachea).
Acromioclavicular injury
Happens with elbow ground injury.

Sprain, subluxation, dislocation, tie your tooth (operate) (1, 2, 3, 5)
Glenohumeral injury
Comes from external rotation, abducting and extension.

Anterior and inferior are most common.

Repeated dislocations makes groove, makes the process more likely. Eventually have to go in and have it filled.

Posterior dislocation uncommon.

Inferior dislocation can happen with hands above head.
Rotator Cuff tears
Most common is supraspinatus. Test by making them put their hand on their saccrum.
Pain in shoulder
Caused by impingement.
