B. Good evening, my name is Antonio Demetrius Wilson. During my time at Whiteville High School I have been a member of the Nationals Honor Society for 2 years and JROTC for 4 consecutive years, I have yet to play any sports, but planning to. I haven't had a job, but I consider school my work place. Being in the JROTC program, I am involved in countless activities dealing with the community.

C. Since my 11th grade year, I have been working on my graduation Project. My research topic was Chemistry effects on life and I decided on this topic because it is so fascinating and amazing to see how certain objects in this world work and how they benefit us in our daily lives, and how a simple chemical formula can find out millions and trillions of ideas and thoughts. I also admire the excessive outcomes of chemical reactions; they are just riveting and overwhelming that it just blows my mind when I view it.

II. (The Research Paper)
A. In order to find information, I've received information from 4 different source types, which were websites; One i found extremely useful, it was named Chemistry Facts, 2 books, author named Harris, the other named Bensaude-Vincent, and an interview with Stephen Clontz, who is an employee at Whiteville Highschool in the Science department. The Majority of my information came from online websites. Many people and books may not have all the knowledge about chemistry, and websites are more likely to have the information you are looking for because most of them are updated daily with legitimate information. These websites are credentialed websites. Which means they have been inspected by experts for good quality and us.

B. While this project focuses on the process, I would like to tell you a few things about my topic, which was Chemistry Effects on Life.
5
I. Chemistry has had a dramatic effect on not only just human life, but life on earth. For those of you clueless about what chemistry really is; it is basically how an object in this universe performs and retaliates with another object. Chemistry is basically studying matter. Without chemistry, some of the creations could not be possible. The first sign of chemistry started way back around the time the first humans appeared, when they started fire. They did not know this was chemistry, but It was, and they were probably frightened, because they had no idea what this was. But, this was a chemical reaction happening.
6
II. Chemical industries hire up to 850,000 people in the world and 5 million similar jobs. I know what you're thinking; 5 million is a big number. The people in the industries may have more than 1 job; it depends on what your experience on chemical utilization is and what type of job it is. The people of the world need chemists with immense amount of knowledge in the chemistry field because diseases and illnesses are out there ready to attack, and we all have to be prepared.
7
Talk about the materials you laid out on the table.

III. The Product

A. For my product, I decided to create different types of soaps using materials bought from nearby stores, such as Wal-Mart. I made bars of soaps, and hand soaps. I even made my homemade hand sanitizer for jut a little extra experiment for a chemical reaction.
9
B. I decided on this product for my project because soap, liquid hand soap, and hand sanitizer all require a chemical reaction for completion of the product, and notice all of the products I've made pertain to personal hygiene, and personal hygiene is a very important part of human life. These products in your possession get utilized 1 billion times per minute around the world.
10
C. Since the product required 15 hours of work, I decided to make my own goodie basket with these products inside. The creation process for the soap takes about 3 hours, and I've made quite a few bars. The liquid hand soap did not require much time; it took about an hour to make, as well as the hand sanitizer.
11
Show the powerpoint of your process of making the soap, liquid hand soap, and hand sanitizer. Including Pictures.

IV. (Successes and Failures)
13
A. While i was working on my project, many things went just as planned, such as the communication with my mentor, and the hours spent with him. The topic was easy to maneuver through and the sources were easy to find, which made it easy for me to flow my ideas throughout my paper and get started immediately on my product.
14
B. However, as we all know; when things go well, there are also going to be conflicts and obstacles. In my case, the things most difficult for me were to search for a committed mentor. I understand people with jobs and families probably do not have the extra time to spend with someone else on a project of theirs, but my first mentor was busy and that person spent about 30 minutes with me, and that individual was honest and said that they do not think the could provide me with the hours needed for my project, and I was completely fine with that because their explanation was understandable. The only other problem I faced was finding time for myself to work with that mentor. Extracurricular activities are dominant at high schools, so your after school agenda will be crammed with things to do. In my case JROTC was the most I was involved with the activities. But, I managed to speak with my instructor about the time and agenda for the events, and we made a compromise that worked out just fine.

V. (Overall Learning Experience)

A. Throughout the course of working on my Graduation project, I learned many things. While completing the research allowed me to learn much information about my topic, the most important things I learned were about myself. I noticed that I work really well with adults, and I believe I connect to them better, in my opinion. I also learn that my passion in chemistry has grown stronger ever since I started this project in my 11th grade of high school, and it's going to keep advancing. I am very responsible in keeping up with documents, recipes, items, and time. I realize that this project was time consuming but it wasn't for nothing. This project made me realize the college world. This project gave me a taste of how college will be like and how about every week a college student stands up in front of a crowd and presents a piece of work they created. I believe that I put all my effort into this project because chemistry is something I love studying and will continue to study. Even though I am enrolling in the air force, I will get a job through the air force that deals with chemistry. I have always wanted to be a forensic scientist, and I believe this project has helped me in learning more about chemistry than I ever did know.
