*Identity Stressors:
-affects an individual's identity throughout life
-Adolescence are particularly vulnerable
-adolescence are trying to adjust to physical, emotional & mental changes of increasing maturity, which results in insecurity & anxiety
Identity Sressors r/t Adults:
-cultural & social stressors have more impact on adults than personal stressors

-adults have to balance career or family & honor religious traditions
IDENTITY CONFUSION:
-results when people do not maintain a clear, consistent, & continuous consciousness of personal identity
-occurs at any stage of life if a person is unable to adapt to identity stressors

SICK ROLE:
-involves the expectations of others and society regarding how an indvidual behaves when sick
