What network security's are there

Encryption, password protection, user access levels, firewalls

Encryption

data is encoded and can only be read by someone with a key

password protection

if files are stolen they can't be opened without a password

user access levels

people can only access the areas of the network they need to use eg/users/teacher/admin

firewall

sits between your network and computer and monitors all packets coming through. if it finds a bad one it will deflect it.
