Copernicus
Polish astronomer who refuted the theory of a geocentric universe in favor of a heliocentric one.
Galileo
Italian scientist who exclusively utilized a telescope to refute the Ptolemaic system. He publicized his findings and arguments for the Copernican system in his "Dialogues on the Two Chief Systems of the World."
Newton
