What is a cell membrane?

A cell membrane is a thin covering that forms the outer boundary of a cell.

What is selectively permeable?

Selectively permeable means that certain molecules go through them and other molecules do not.

What is passive transport?

Passive transport is the movement of substances through the membrane without the use of the cells own energy.

What is diffusion?

Diffusion is the movement of molecules from a place where there are many of them to a place where there are few them.

What is osmosis?

Osmosis is the diffusion of water through a selectively permeable membrane.

What is active transport?

Active transports uses the cells own energy.

What did Leeuwehoek called the organisms he viewed with his microscopes?

Bestest or animalcules.

The basic parts of a cell?

The cellular boundaries the cytoplasm and the genetic material.

What are cell walls?

The cell wall supports and protects the cell

Organelles?

Organelles are the parts of a cell that perform any of the functions needed to keep the cell alive.

What are vacuoles?

Vacuoles are organelles that look like bubbles and serve as a containers inside the cytoplasm of some cells.

What are the difference between cilia and flagella?

Cilia if they are short and there are many of them on the cell and flagella if they are longer and the cell has only a few.

What is the nucleus?

The nucleus is a compact roundish structure that function as the control center for the cell.

What are chromosomes?

Chromosomes are composed of DNA and other molecules.

Which organelles are filled with enzymes that help destroy and this old unneeded cell structures as well as invading foreign matter?

Lysosomes.

What is the difference between a prokaryotic and then eukaryotic cell?

Prokaryotic does not have a nuclear membrane and only non membrane-bound organelles.
