Abilities that are helpful to an organism but are not passed on from a parent.
Example: Large muscle developed by training for a sport or event.
Allele
A letter that represents a genetic trait and a member of a pair of genes on a chromosome. Written in pairs and used in Punnett Squares.
Amphibian
A cold-blooded vertebrate tha is born under water, using its gills to breathe, then spend the rest of its life on land, using lungs to breathe.
Example: Frogs, toads, newts, salamanders

An adaptation that helps and animal blend into its surrounding and helps ti avoid predators.
Example: The arctic fox has white fur in the winter and brown fur in the summer.

The way in wihich carbon (in the form of carbon dioxide) is removed from the atmoshphere by living things and ultimately return to the atmosphere.
