Cage Space:

Because the emperor tamarins are only little, the cage does not need to be overly big in size.

The dimentions are;

5m long

3m high

2m wide

Social Groupings:

Because the tamrins dont like to be alone, they live in groups or with their family.

So they are placed in 3 or more to a cage.

Shelter:

The tamarins require a little bit of shelter just like they have in the wild as they live in trees, alowing some sun and rain to come through.

So the cage has vines running along the top to try and reseble the trees.

Food / Water:

The zoo keepers feed the Tamarins by sliding up 2 doors at the back of the cage and pushing the food through onto little platforms.

And their water is kept in a bowl in their platform house with a pipe constanlty dripping water into the bowl and does not matter if the bowl overflows because it sits on a grate and just flows over staright onto the cage floor.

Sleeping:

Because the Tarmins slep in trees in the wild, their are trees in the cage that they can slep on and they also have a patform house they can sleep in to pretect them from the elements.

Retreat:

The Tamarins can retreat from the public by hiding in the trees or going into the platform house, becaus they are not confronted with us in the wild so they need to be able to retreat.

Enclosure Materials:

The materials i have used in my enlcusre are:

- Kebab sticks

- Plam tree leaves

- Sand

- Rocks

- Carboard cylinder

- Yougurt container

- Craboard

Does it reflect their natural Habitat:

Yes it does, because everytihg they have and need in the wild, we have accounted for in their enclsure.

Animal Safety:

If the animal is in harm or in need of any help for any reason, the zoo staff can acess them quickly using the side door.

Secure Enclosure:

The encosure is very secure as the Tamrin can not escape throgh any bit of the cage and the zoo staff use a 2 door system.

Cleaning and Maintance:

The satff can clean and maintain the enclousre through the 2 acess doors.

Preparation and Planing:

The staff can prep and plan anything they need for the animal behind the back wall that the public cant see and prep their food here as well.

Space for movement and Vehicles:

There is space for vehicles out the front of the cage and also behind the cage where the public cant see.

Clear views of animal:

The zoo do not have clear views for little children as they had a hedge blobking their view, but i have designed my enclosure with a safe a secure step up ladder, that they now have clear and full views of the animal.

Caters for all needs of the people:

This enclusre encounters for all people and also people if they have a wheel chair, or whatever their ability is.

Appealing to look at:

The cage is appealing to look at as it is motly green and all the plants look healthy.

Educational Value:

This enlcousrre does have educational purposes as their is afact sheet on the front of the cage about the animal and the children can observe their natural habitat by looking at the plants in their cage.
