What causes air pressure

Air pressure is the force of air molecules pushing on an area

Where would air pressure be the Highest?

At the bottom at Death Valley

Air at de level is denser that air at High Altitudes

Since its greater at sea level, the air molecules are pushed closer together.

What causes wind to blow?

Earths surface causes such pressure, which sets air in motion

How does the coriolis effect influence how global winds blow?

Global winds curve, because they cannot flow directly from the poles to equator

Compare and contrast doldrums and horse latitudes

Compare:Both have calm regions. Contrast: horse latitudes are low pressure and Doldrums are high pressure

Name three global winds

Westerlies,easterlies,and trade winds

What causes the trade winds to blow?

They blow from the horse latitudes to the equator

What causes the westerlies to blow?

They blow from horse latitudes to the poles

What causes local wind patterns?

By the air over the land rises and expands

What is evaporation?

Process by which a liquid changes to a gas

What is condensation?

A gas,such as water vapor,which changes into a liquid

What process loses energy?

Condensation

What process gains energy?

Evaporation

What is saturation

It's how evaporation and conduncation are equal

What is dew point?

Temperature at which air is given amount of water vapor will reach saturation

How do clouds form?

When air rises it cools,it goes to its dew point

Three types of clouds?

Cumulus,stratus,and cumulonimbus

What is precipitation?

Any type of liquid that falls to earths surface

Three types of precipitation

Hail,snow,rain

How does water vapor enter the air?

Evaporation from bodies of water

Why does more precipitation fall over the ocean than land

Water from bodies of water evaporates more often into the air above it
