  • Back
A type of cell with a complicated structure. Includes a nucleus. Examples: Animal or plant cells.
Eukaryotic Cell
Specialized cell parts that can move around the cell and have special jobs
Organelles
gives structure and support
Flexible
Controls what enters and leaves the cell
Cell Membrane
The Cleaner/ Lysol
Digests food, waste, cell parts and invaders
The cell Pac-Man
Lysosome
Storage system
stores water and other materials.
Very large in plant cells
Vacuum
Vacuole
Bean shaped powerhouse
Breaks down food to make energy.
Mighty
Mitochondria
Processes & transports materials outside the cell.
Bulgy so it carries things outside the cell in a very complicated manner
Golgi Complex
Like ribs, these are found in every cell and they are found the most plentiful inside a cell. This also makes protein. like the kind found on ribs.
Ribosomes
Makes Fats and becomes rough when ribosomes cling to it. Just like in an Emergency Room sometimes it's rough in there, but sometimes it goes along smoothly
Endoplasmic Reticulum or ER
The brain or control center of the cell. Contains DNA. Just like a nuclear or smart bomb, it controls everything in the area.
Nucleus
a gelatin like substance that gives structure and support. It isn't much of a "sight" because it surrounds everything in the cell.
Cytoplasm
Not found in an animal cell. gives structure and support.
Cell Wall
Only in plants/ algae
contains chlorophyll
needed for photosynthesis
chloroplast
