Motion

An objects change in postion relative to a reference point

Force

A push or pull exerted on an object in order to change the motion of the object; force has size and direction. (scalar)

Gravity

A force of attraction between objects that is due to their masses

Constant Velocity

A constant, unchanging motion in a constant direction; in other words an object is traveling the same distance in the same direction every second. (Vector)

Speed

The distance traveled divided by the time interval in which the motion occured.

Newton

The SI unit for force symbol N.

Weight

A measure of the gravitational force exerted on an object; its value can change with an objects location in the universe

Resultant Velocity

The outcome of the addition of two velocity vectors; in any situation not dealing with velocity the same value would be called a resultant vector.

Velocity

The speed of an object in a particular direction.

Net Force

The combination of all of the forces acting on an object.

Mass

A measure in the amount of matter in an object.

Acceleration

The rate at which velocity changes over time; an object accelerates if it changes in speed, direction, or both.

Friction

A force that opposes motion between two surfaces that are in contact.

Reference point

A point in relation to which other measurements such as size, motion, and speed are made.
