what is an element?
a pure substance that cannot be broken down into a simpler substance.
what is a compound?
a pure substance that contains two or more different elements in a fixed proportion.
what does physical property mean?
a characteristic or description of a substance that can be used to identify it.

How are ionic and convalent bonds form?
ionic bonds are formed when electrons are transfered from one atom to the other. Convalent bonds are formed when electrons are shared between atoms.
