Relative Primes
Integers that have no common factor other than 1. To determine whether 2 integers are relative primes, break them down to their prime factorization.

ex. 35= 5x7 & 54=2x3x3x3
they have no prime common factors, so they are relative primes.
Multiplying Fractions
Multiply both the numerators and the denominators.
Adding/Subtracting Fractions
Find a common denominator, then find the associated numerators. Then add the numerator.
Finding the Original Whole
Set up an equation
Ex. After a 5% increase, the population was 59,346. What was the original?

1.05x=59,346
Combined Percent Increase and Decrease
To determine tho combined effect of multiple percent increases/ decreases, start with 100 and see what happens.
Using the Average Formula to find the Sum
Sum= (Average)x(# of Terms)
Finding the Missing Number
When given the average, use the sum. If the average of 4 #s is 7, then the sum is 4x7 or 28. Suppose that 3 #s are 3, 5, & 8. these 3 #s add up to 16. this leaves12 as the 4th #
