Where do cancers in prostate develop?
75% in peripheral zone, 15% in central, 10% in transitional.
Which zones almost never have prostate CA?
anterior and periprostatic sphincter zone
Hormonal therapy
Used for metastatic disease

Relieves pain and reduces PSA level.

Effects can last for up to a year but then you need to try another option.

Surgical castration and chemical castration (using hormonal therapy) are equivalent.
Chemotherapy summary
Can relieve pain and reduce PSA

Prolongs survival, but is not curative.

There is no role for bone marrow transplant!!!
