PHILEMON


Paul meets Onesimus, the runaway slave and appeals to Philemon his master for reconciliation.

TITUS

Paul equips Titus to deal with a Cretan church that is running amok; problems with leadership, circumcision party and false teaching.

EPHESIANS

Mystery religions; Artemis. Paul urges the church to fight the temptation to return to paganism and calls the Jews and Gentiles to unity.

GALATIANS

Paul writes to call the Galatians back from the Circumcision Party who are teaching that Salvation = Jesus + Law

MARK

Nero was persecuting the Christians heavily because he blamed the fire in Rome on them. Mark wrote to encourage the persecuted church through suffering.

1 THESSALONIANS

Paul corrects the young Thessalonian church in their misunderstanding about the second coming.

2 THESSALONIANS

Paul writes to the Thessalonians again about the second coming because they received a forged letter in his name contradicting his original teaching.

PHILIPPIANS

Paul writes to call the Philippians away from pride in their Roman citizenship, encouraging them in their suffering and to thank them for their support.

ROMANS

Claudius evicted the Jews from Rome in 49 A.D. and Nero let them return in 54 A.D. During this time, the church became mostly Gentiles. Paul writes to dissolve the division in the church.

1 CORINTHIANS

Over-Realized eschatology caused many problems in the Corinthian church. Paul writes in response to both reported problems from Chloe’s people of dissension and immorality, and the written problems from the church of spiritual gifts and marriage issues

2 CORINTHIANS

Paul writes against the super-apostles who are discrediting his ministry and to prepare the church for the Jerusalem offering.
