What is the soil like in a tropical rainforest? |
Not very fertile because it rains a lot which means the nutrients are washed away. |

Waxy leaves with a filter shape are known as drip tip leaves which helps reduce the amount of water going in to the soil.
Buttress roots are wide to keep the trunk stable.
Lianas are long they wrap themselves around the tree to get sunlight. |

Population pressure as the population increases the more homes will need to be built which means trees need to be cut down. Roads when new settlements have been placed roads need to be built. People need to cut down trees to sell products for money.

What are the environmental impacts of deforestation ? |
Because the trees have been cut down there are no leaves to reduce water from going into the soil so this means the soil is washed away (soil erosion) which can lead to killing fish making water undrinkable and floodings. There is no leaf fall so that means the soil isn't fertile because there are no nutrients. |
