Hades(pluto)

King of the underworld. The Greeks called him Pluto because they didn't want to mention is actual name. He was also the God of wealth since all the precious metals were under the Earth's crust.

Persephone

The daughter of Demeter and Queen of the underworld. Because she ate the pomegrante seeds that Hades gave her she was forced to spend fall and winter in the underworld and spring and summer up on the Earth.

Demeter

The God of crops and harvest. When persephone is in the underworld the Earth would be "dead."

Cerberus

Three headed dog that guards the gates of the underworld so no one escapes.

Charon

The one that navigated the boat down the river into the underworld.

Styx and Lethe

Rivers that flow into the world and are associated with forgetfulness.

Elysian Fields

It was the graveyard or resting grounds for the souls of gods or heroes.

Sisyphus

His punishment was to push a big boulder up a mountain only to watch it roll back down and he keeps repeating this motion until eternity.

He stood by a puddle of water but was unable to drink out of it because the branches or vines of a fruit tree prevented him every time he tried.
