What is the Importance to General Health?

Dentistry is a health care field. The treatment of and/or recognition of oral disease, or the failure to recognize/treat oral disease can have a significant impact on the general health of the patient.

What are some evidence that a health history has been updated?

- Write statement in the treatment progress note if any contraindications to treatment and note the problem.
- Also need to state if there is no contraindication to treatment prior to dental procedure for that date in the treatment progress note. - Ask patient at every appointment if any changes to health - illness, medications, physicians - This is checked at every appointment - (PTP). - Health history summary is updated twice a year (biannual). |
