1854 - There was a massive drop in cholera rates after the set up of a lot of local boards.


What was the effect?

The central board was shut and just the next year, there was a huge resurgence in cholera and typhoid rates.

What act was passed in 1864?

The factory act. It forced factory owners to care about their workers.
